It's that time of the year again, we might look for some bearsih play (if history has antyhing to go by). Let's trigger the discussion. My post is here --> http://www.optionpundit.net/trade-ideas/a-bearish-apple-aapl-trade

Let's use the post for the discussion on this. I shall add my trade idea on the post's comments section itself.

Can you please share what was the play and and what price?

It is listed here--> http://www.optionpundit.net/trade-ideas/a-bearish-apple-aapl-trade/comment-page-1#comment-60367

Congrat...!!!

Apple developer's conference is starting today (http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/), time to play the strategy again :) We have played this event quite successfully for the past several years last years post-> (http://www.optionpundit.net/trade-ideas/a-bearish-apple-aapl-trade/comment-page-1#comment-60367). Keep in mind though, Friday was a big sell-off day and usual, there is no certainty that history will repeat.

I shall be taking a chance, so thought to let you know all.

Have fun and trade with only what you are ok to lose,

The AAPL WWDC will begin today. Usually preceeding the WWDC and upto afew hrs on the 1st day AAPL rises and then it pullsback (usually after Steve Jobs makes major announcements). We played in this past quite nicely.

This year, after sharply rising, AAPL pullbacked during the days preceeding WWDC. A new trend in the making? I don't know. I played the same strategy i.e. purchased the bull put spread (and right now AAPL is up about $3 in the pre-market) which may or make not money today...depends upon how it opens and what annoncements are made...

I'll go withe same plan...i.e. if I have multiple contracts on this BPS, I shall start to shave-off as the day progress and if AAPL doesn't pullback then I'll keep remaining contracts...if AAPL does pulback, then I shall be closing the Bull put spreads and open Bear Call spreads..350 is surely a points to look out for..

From Briefing.com-

03-Jun-11
10:50  AAPL Apple: Roundup of recent reports on AAPL's upcoming WWDC on Monday (344.26 -1.82) -Update-

On Monday at 1 PM ET, Apple will host its yearly World Wide Developer Conference. In the past, AAPL has used this event as an opportunity to unveil its new software and products, mainly its latest iPhone which releases shortly thereafter. This year, however, AAPL is not expected to release a new version of its iPhone; the consensus now expects the phone to launch in September as opposed to the usual June release of the past 4 models. The focus this year, according to sources, will be its iCloud service.

The iCloud service is expected to be AAPL's cloud offering that will allow its iTunes customers to store and access its iTunes library on the cloud. Reports suggest that AAPL has already locked up deals with the four major record labels -- Universal Music Group (Vivendi), SNE, WMG, and EMI Group. The movie industry is still in question, however. AAPL is said to be offering the service for free initially for those tracks that were already purchased on iTunes, but with a $25/year fee thereafter. Aside from the iCloud announcement, AAPL is said to be unveiling its latest operating systems for its Mac line (dubbed Lion) and its mobile line (iOS 5). Both have been in beta testing for developers for months, so neither comes as a surprise.

with stock up but vol down the mid is ~6.60 now. Do you still like the trade here with only a few days to go? And you plan to close it before the event don't you?
Thanks,
Marco.

The mid is 8.05; I think you might be looking at wrong series. Yes, I am in the trade and still like and will close it before the event and replace it with bear spreads as soon as Tim Cook comes on the stage ;) (Broadly speaking)

(I noticed, I typed it 725 while the screenshot was correct for 715). the Correct trade is 715 put calendar.
